about
It all started September 11 1988. A little boy, the youngest of 3 brothers, was born in the hospital of a small town in Jutland, Denmark, called Skive.
He lived the first 4 years of his life in the one horse town of Jebjerg before his parents decided to move to the “capital” of the region; Skive.
He went to a primary school called Skive Hus Skole for 9 years (0-8th class) before attending to boarding school for two years; first at the Mellerup Efterskole for the 9th grade and then the 10th grade at Klejtrup Musikefterskole.
In the primary school’s 6th grade he started a band with his three classmates Simon, Malte and Rasmus. The band was called ‘The Black Headed Gulls’ and was later renamed ‘Mac Ramiz’ inspired by the name of their rehearsing room (“Ramis”) and with the motto: “Creamy Fuck Off” (referring to a famous Danish girl duo performing classic children songs in dance versions). Rasmus was kicked out of the band due to his lack of ambition and was shortly replaced by the boys big brother, Johann. Johann played two concerts with ‘Mac Ramiz’ before the group renamed itself again. This time the band took its final name, ‘Dúné’ (referring to the Frank Herbert book ‘Dune’ and inspired by his big brothers band ‘exposé‘). The band soon took in fellow class mates Cecilie (Keys) and Piotrek (taking over bass duties from Johann) and recorded their first demo CD, ‘Let’s Jump,’ in a local studio ‘Twilight Studios’. The CD was financed by Simon’s father who built a kitchen for the studio owner in exchange for free studio time.
Taking on a more punky sound, the 5 piece band was joined by the two friends Ole and Danny from a city near Skive called Sparkjær (population 500). They joined as live members, but after the first couple of rehearsals, as full members of the band.
The boy recorded two EP’s with the band and with his big brother Jeppe taking the lead as manager, things started happening.
In 2006 they signed a record deal and in 2007 they released their debut album in Europe and Japan. Releasing an album also meant a lot of touring all over the world, which was a bit hard for the young boy because he had to attend the High School of Skive at the same time. But frankly, he loved to escape from Skive.
In 2008 he graduated and immediately moved to Copenhagen with his band. In Copenhagen they won a lot of awards and continued to travel around the world while they wrote their second album.
This album was called ‘Enter Metropolis’ and was released in August 2009. At the same time, the boy decided to move to the capital of Germany, Berlin, with his band mates.
In the beginning he didn’t have that much time to experience Berlin because he was touring all the time, but over time he got to know the city pretty well. The city and the boy (who was now officially a man) became friends and he decided to stay around for a couple of years and give all his time to the band he loved.
November 27 2010: the boy decided to create a blog for everybody to see!
